Rootfolio is an independent app for family finances and investments, built and run by one person.

Who I am

I’m Lirim Zendeli. I have worked in payroll since 2008: support and consulting on payroll software, compliance, labour costs and user training. Since 2025 I have been building web apps that solve real problems, with Claude as my development partner. You can read more on my personal website.

Why Rootfolio exists

I wanted one place for my family’s money: current accounts, spending, the yearly budget and investments, together. So I built it for myself, I use it every day, and I then opened it to anyone who has the same need.

How your data is handled

• No bank or broker login: Rootfolio never asks for them. You enter your data or import your statements.
• No advertising, no data sales: the app is paid for by its subscriptions.
• Where it lives: the database runs on a private server that I manage myself, with an encrypted backup every day.
• Who can see it: other users can’t. Your data isn’t end-to-end encrypted, so as the technical manager of the server I could access it, and I do so only for support, security or legal reasons.
• Your exit: you can export all your data at any time.

What Rootfolio is not

It isn’t a bank, a broker or a financial adviser. Reports, forecasts and AI reviews help you understand your numbers, but decisions are yours. The guides on this site are for information only: the zakat guide, for example, is not a religious ruling.
